I was recently invited to a Kiehl’s press event for their soon to be released product, the Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate. Obviously I couldn’t say no to the offer and thus I travelled to Amsterdam on Monday, which you might have noticed on Instagram already. The event was hosted at the Playing Circle: a beautiful, old building with conservatory windows, offering an amazing view on Amsterdam’s canals…
On Monday morning I hopped on the train to Amsterdam to attend the presentation at the Playing Circle. There were lovely cards displayed as you went up the stairs (5 levels high), saying ”you can do it!”. Once I reached the top floor, there was a board that said ”You made it! Now, it’s time to make yourself at home”. It wasn’t hard to feel at home with the love from the Kiehl’s family. A long wooden table stood in the centre of the room, featuring a huge quinoa salad, muffins and pastries for everyone to enjoy. The presentation was held by a dermatologist and afterwards we could ask her anything we wanted to know.
Here are a few pictures from the event to give you all a glimpse of what it was like:
Once the event ended, we were asked if we would like a personal skin consultation by Kiehl’s employees. Again, how could I say no?! We travelled to the Kiehl’s store on the Kalverstraat and the most lovely guy, Raul, examined my skin and asked me several questions. I was totally right about having combination skin as he confirmed it quite immediately. Apparently, most men have combination skin! He also used an electronic tool to see how well my skin is hydrated. A hydration level of 50% is excellent and very rare, but my skin scored 41,1% on the hydration test. He jokingly said that ”I was doing something right!”.
After the consultation, we were allowed to choose a few skin care products that were recommended to us. I will post a review about my new skin care products next month, after having tried the products properly. I decided to go for a shaving cream & post-shave lotion, because my skin is always irritated after shaving, the infamous Calendula Toner and a facial moisturizer that Raul really recommended for my skin.
Along with our skin care routine (and a few luxury samples), we also received Kiehl’s bestseller Midnight Recovery Concentrate and the Refining Micro-Peel Concentrate, that is due to be released in April. I will post a separate review of the latter around April, as I don’t want to get any of you too excited before you can actually purchase it!
All in all, it was a wonderful event. A big thank you to Veronique, Rachel and Raul for making this event wonderful. Rachel and Raul introduced me very warmly to Kiehl’s and I got to know my skin better as well. I’m happy to have learned that I’m treating my skin well, which you might have read about here.
In the upcoming weeks I’m testing my new Kiehl’s skin care products and a review will be posted as well. I can definitely recommend a skin consultation at Kiehl’s to anyone. It’s free, incredibly learning and fun!
Have you tried Kiehl’s before?
