Hi everyone! First and foremost, I would like to apologize. As you may have noticed, I have been quite inactive the past couple days. This was mainly due to the fact that I was terribly ill and had to rest, without being distracted by anything. Luckily I have been feeling better and working incredibly hard in order to provide you with quality content. Without further ado, let me show you what I picked up at LUSH recently!

LUSH has to be one of my all-time favourite brands, since I was a child. I remember going to LUSH with my mum back in 2009, when I was only discovering the walhalla of beauty products. Ever since I have had many hits & misses with LUSH (I might do a post on this), but I always pick up goodies regularly as I lo-lo-love the majority of their products.

For those who have never been to LUSH or thinking ”what is this?!”, I have you covered! The official brand name is LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, that was founded in 1995 by Mark Constantine & Liz Weir. To be honest, the company has a long, but very interesting history that you can all read about here. But as this is a beauty blog, I can imagine you’d like to know what I bought!

Body exfoliants have always been a tricky case for me. They’re either too abrasive or mild, and I was really looking for something that was just middle down the road. I heard great things about Rub Rub Rub, a body scrub based on sea salt, that smells like chocolate oranges. This makes my skin SO SOFT! I can’t recall my skin ever having felt so soft before, honestly. I feel no need to apply a body lotion on top neither. Also, this is actually marketed as a body scrub & shower gel in one, so you can even skip using soap!

For my hair, I picked up a new jar of Roots, a hair treatment designed to give your hair volume. It was designed by Mark, who used to work as a trichologist (= someone who knows everything about hair & scalp problems) at Elizabeth Arden. The hair treatment is full of peppermint oil to stimulate the blood circulation on your scalp, which is very noticeable, but enjoyable. I keep it tingling on my scalp for about 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing it out with shampoo. Apart from peppermint oil, it contains extra virgin olive oil, softening honey and citric acid to add shine to your locks. The consistency is smooth and easy to apply, I personally take out a few large scoops with my hands and apply it all over (you don’t have to) – volume guaranteed!

Even though I haven’t been in the bath for weeks, I picked up Sex Bomb bath bomb and The Comforter bubble bar. Sex Bomb is a beautifully jasmine & rose scented bath bomb that turns your bath a light pink colour, with rose petals drifting through the tub. The water has a milky feel & look to it and leaves your skin feeling soft & moisturized. Whereas Sex Bomb is subtle, the Comforter smells like sickly sweet cherries. I break off a little piece, crumble it under the running tap water and that’s it! The bubbles are huge and stay that way, they don’t fall apart easily nor do they evaporate.

Last but not least, I bought a new bottle of The Olive Branch shower gel. I use this shower gel almost every day and it deserves all the attention. Just like its name, it smells very Mediterranean: tangerine oil, mixed with lemons and olive oil. The latter contributes to its moisturizing properties, but that’s also why the consistency is a bit off. It’s very thin & runny, as you may not expect from a shower gel. I shake it well before use, spritz it on my favourite shower puff and voilà – fancy yourself in either Italy or Spain.

Have you been shopping recently?

Much love,

I have never tried lush products. Maybe time for me to do so.

You definitely should give them a try! Perhaps ask for a few samples in store? I usually find their staff very helpful!
